Cara & Josh's Cedar Bar Wedding, Bellingen

I looked forward to this wedding for a long time, and it did not disappoint. I did a family shoot for Cara and Josh back at the start of 2018, and fell in love with their little family, for the next year she planned their wedding and it felt so right from the start that I was their photographer (thank you!). Cara and Josh planned their wedding in beautiful Bellingen (a sentimental place for Josh’s family)- less than an hour from where I grew up- I knew Bellingen well and how lovely it would be for their wedding. Cara and her bridesmaids (and her daughter as flowergirl) got ready at Finders Keepers Cottage with the boys ( and their son the page boy) getting ready around the corner at Studio 22. Their ceremony was held in town at Cedar Bar, the most stunning restored church (110 years old!!) and kitchen (amazing locally sourced food!) I absolutely adored working with local celebrant Rachel Pollard who was kind, warm and professional and delivered a fantastic heartfelt ceremony. We then did photos in some absolutely breathtaking spots a short drive away and then back to Cedar Bar for a super fun and relaxed reception. Cara & Josh put so much work into making their day theirs, they got rid of traditions that didn’t make sense to them and ‘wedding things’ they didn’t think they needed- for example they had no wedding cake but rather some delicious desserts from Cedar Bar. Cara handmade her flowergirl dress and cut costs in a really smart way to make sure their day was affordable for their family without losing the elegance and beauty of the day they wanted. And oh my it was beautiful- see below! Much love to you and your family Cara & Josh!
